  3.      HANDS WITH HCPC 12 OR MORE
  4. The bid of 2C is an artificial Stayman bid.  It asks
  5. partner to bid a four card major or best suit.
  6.   (1) The person making the Stayman bid may be trying
  7. to find game in a major with 4/4 fit.
  8.   (2) The player may have a long minor suit that
  9. responder will bid next turn.  This shows an OPC of
  10. 15 or more and indicates hope of making game in the
  11. minor suit or notrump.  This is forcing to game.
  12.  
  13.        HANDS WITH LESS THAN 12 POINTS:
  14. The 2C bid is also made if the hand has no 5 card suit
  15. and few if any points.  In this case partner will pass
  16. any bid made by opener.  Finally the 2C bid may
  17. describe an unbalanced hand with less than HCPC 11
  18. and no 5 card suit.  The responder is looking for a
  19. fit in opener's suit and will pass opener's bid.
  20. When responder passes prior to the 1NT bid, opener
  21. must pass any two bid in a suit made by responder
  22. including the 2C bid.
